Access Control is simply allowing the right people into an area at the right time, or "Saying who can go where when".

It provides management of access to doors, elevators, alarm areas and more. It is able to programme user credentials, access levels, timezones, public holidays and more. It can be programmed and monitored via an easy to use Windows based software which stores user information & provides powerful audit trail reporting facilites.

An example:

The public is allowed in the front door during office hours. The door will automatically unlock at 9am and lock again at 5pm. Anyone outside the building can get inside during these hours.

On the same door, it is necessary to allow people to enter outside these times. They will be issued with a credential (eg a card, key or other identification means). They will then be assigned times in which they can enter. Some people may only have extended hours (eg 6am to 11pm Monday to Friday), while others may have 24 hour access. It is possible to restrict access through doors, driveways and lifts.

An access credential is a means of identification. They range from pin numbers (low security) to ibuttons, proximity cards and fobs, to Smart cards to Biometrics (Iris or fingerprint readers) at the high end.

JA2MCD is a colour hands-free video intercom master station with the added feature of pan/tilt control of the video door station.

JA2MECD features two video door station inputs for connection of two colour pan/tilt video door stations.

JA2MECD has the added feature of two video CCTV camera inputs (NTSC format). This enables the connection to two remote surveillance cameras in addition to the two video door stations. Additional monitors can be connected, JA2HDCD to enable up to a total of three internal video stations.

JB2MED has all the features of the popular JB2MD with the added function of a built-in digital picture memory unit. The digital picture memory unit will record images from either of the two video door stations enabling the user to view images of any callers. The JB2MED also has an external trigger input to enable the recording function to be triggered by an remote device eg. PIR.

Aiphone's DA series residential audio intercom offers single door kits and 2 and 4 call door stations. The DA Series features simple two wire cabling, AC operation by inexpensive plug pack and AC door release operation. In addition the DA Series features an optional second door release function and door stations available in grey and silver.

Aiphone's GF 4 wire digital audio/video apartment intercom features entry security, fully modular vandal resistant entrance stations. The GF video allows up to five entrance stations and 250 apartment stations and up to two handsets per apartment. In addition the GF video allows intermixing of video and audio handsets, a digital keypad and name scroll module and surface mounting hardware is also available and bus lines up to 300 meters in length (requires GFWVBC).
